to the Chadderton Rifle & Pistol Club web site.
Please feel free to take your time and browse through our web
site and find all you want to know about Chadderton Rifle and Pistol Club,
the different disciplines and firearms/shotguns that we shoot as well as our
We can trace our club back to 1942 but the club goes back much
longer than that (It was previously known as Middleton and Chadderton Militaria)
but unfortunately the records prior to 1942 were destroyed during WWII. At
that time the club had around four hundred members but unfortunately membership
had now dwindled to around 40 members.
Members have a range of facilities which they can choose from, these include
.22 rimfire target shooting, .22 rimfire sporting rifle, pistol calibre carbines
(.38, .357 and .44 magnum) and centre fire rifles up to 7.62 calibre as well
as a registered Clay Shooting Ground. The black powder pistol shooting is
now getting off the ground, but we hope that it will improve even more in
the near future.
We have N.S.R.A. approved range control officers who will teach
new members how to handle firearms in a safe and responsible manner, making
it one of the safest sports in which to participate. The Range Control Officers
along with the Committee are more than happy to assist any members should
he or she encounter any difficulty. All members will offer help and advice
to the "probationers".
We have a 100% safety record
that is unbroken since 1942!
We are only a small club, we have a friendly atmosphere with everyone willing
to help one another and are always eagre to welcome and help new members regardless
of how much or how little experience they have.
